Where I Break Another Rule and Talk About Someone Famous

Holy crap...I can not believe some people.

So I'm breaking a rule and talking about a celebrity - one that I have loathed for many, many years. I have to give you her quote before I tell you who said it. Take the quote ALL in...especially all you fantastic moms that read.

"I don't think I could properly educate a child right now. Maybe in the future, but I actually haven't thought about it."Carey said having children would leave her feeling "violated... I know that's a kind of weird thing to say, but that's how I am. You gotta take care of yourself," she said. "You have to try and stay pretty, you know."

Have to try and stay pretty??? You know???

The obviously very maternal Mariah Carey, Ladies and Gentleman. You know, I never thought it was possible but she just became more self-centered and idiotic. Did I mention that she's nearly 40? So how far in the future is she looking for all this?

*walks away, shaking head and muttering to self*

If society is lucky she won't reproduce.

Just when you think it can't get worse it does.
The woman has lost it, I swear. Not that she ever had it!

I am actually thankful for people like this. They know themselves and their priorities and are fully aware that they would not make good parents and/or that they have no desire to become parents, and they don't let anyone tell them otherwise. I'd rather have someone with morals or priorities that don't match mine, who makes the right choices for themselves, than people who have kids (or even pets!) who really *really* shouldn't! Can you imagine if she gave into pressure and had a kid? How horrible would that be?

I mean heck she's right... if staying pretty is her priority and having a kid would leave her feeling violated, then hell no she should not have a kid! Thank God she's honest enough to know that about herself! Whether I agree with her priorities or not, I wish more people were this honest with, and knew themselves that well!

After having a few days to think about this...and read your comment Melissa I can definately see your point. Good for her for knowing when to say no.
My initial reaction was due to the severe not-liking I have when it comes to her...and the whole 'stay pretty' thing at the end. Especially in Hollywood...it seems like everyone that has a baby there never has to worry about Not staying pretty - but feeling violated...now that is a reason to not have a child...for her anyway.
